Asumsi Dasar Karakteristik Matematika, Subjek Didik dan Belajar Matematika Sebagai Dasar Pengembangan Kurikulum Matematika Berbasis Kompetensi Di SMP


To able understand the basic concepts of mathematics competency-based  curriculum development, necessary to understand the characteristic of the basis assumptions of mathematics, the subject of learns and learning mathematics as a basis for the development of competency-based mathematics curriculum in SMP.
            Definition from characteristic of mathematics that teaching math is not easy because in fact it shows that students have a problem in learning mathematics. The following definition of mathematics are:
1.      Mathematics as search activity pattern and relationships.
2.      Mathematics as creativity requires imagination, intuition, and invention.
3.      Mathematics as problem solving activities.
4.      Mathematics as a tool to communicate.
After we know the definition from characteristics of mathematics, the must know about characteristics of student. The following some characteristics from students are :
1.      Students will learn mathematics if they have motivations.
2.      Students learn mathematics by their ways.
3.      Students learn with personality or doing together with a group.
4.      Students need the conteks and situation are different in studying mathematics.
Implications for competition-based curiculum development in junior designed to be in the process of learning mathematics, students can do activities relationshup, students can develop creativity with imagination, intuition and invention. Then the implications for the teacher are provide and use various props, provide opportunities to learn mathematics in different place and situations, and also provide opportunity to us mathematics to a variety of purpose.
By considering the material described above, then the standar of competence that need achieved by the junior high shcool students is to understand and do operation in problem solving, understand and can use the properties and element on line angle, flat and worke up space in problem solving.
Experience and learning activities that needs to be students in order to achieve the basic competience and learning matherial. Learning experience students need to be supported by the availability of source matherial, either directly or object indirect that is contextual. Those, learnng strategies can be developed are emphasis on problem solving, everyday life, supported students as activity learners and learning through cooperative learning.
